Leaderboard Markets, Explained in 5 Minutes

A new kind of market built around any leaderboard. No oracles betting on outcomes — just a simple AMM that converges to fair value at every sync.

Most online markets force you to ask a binary question. Will X happen by Y?Leaderboard markets ask something different and, in our view, far more interesting: who is climbing the rankings right now, and how fast?

The shape of a leaderboard market

Pick any ranked list — AI lab Elo scores, top songs by streams, stablecoins by market cap, L1 chains by TVL. Each entry is a contender. Each contender has a token. Tokens are priced by an AMM whose Net Asset Value (NAV) is set by the leaderboard score itself.

When the underlying score moves — a new model release, a viral song, a TVL surge — the NAV re-anchors. Buyers and sellers between syncs determine the market price. At every sync, spot price snaps back to NAV, and the cycle repeats.

Why this is not a prediction market

There is no oracle voting on a yes/no outcome. There is no settlement event. The score is the score; if Anthropic's Elo is 1504, that is its weight. You are not betting on whether something will happen. You are positioning around a measurable, public number that moves continuously.

What you can do today

  • Trade AI labs on the Text Arena and AI Intelligence leaderboards.
  • Trade stablecoins, DeFi chains, and prediction-market venues.
  • Trade Spotify Top 50 — the songs themselves, not the artists.

Every leaderboard runs on paper money. There is no signup gate to look around — only to save your portfolio. Try a market and tell us what is missing.
